-----------------------------------------------------Highly Recommended----------------------------------------------------- Why Not Join Them? This November, aspiring entrepreneurs and successful business owners alike will flock to Delray Beach and our Info Marketing Conference. Your trip to Florida will be the best investment you ever make. I know that because of the responses we have gotten from past attendees -- like these:
Start your own success story here. "We hear voices in solitude, we never hear in the hurry and turmoil of life; we receive counsels and comforts, we get under no other condition." Amelia E. Barr The Power of SolitudeIn my last ETR essay ("Accessing Your Inner Guidance"), I gave you three questions to ask yourself. The objective was to get in touch with your feelings -- to look deep inside in order to evaluate your life and determine what truly makes you happy. The most important part of this process of getting in touch with your feelings is to begin to practice solitude. Solitude is the most powerful activity in which you can engage. Men and women who practice it correctly and on a regular basis never fail to be amazed at the difference it makes in their lives. But as Catherine Ponder, the author of many inspirational books, points out, "Men and women begin to become great when they begin to take time quietly by themselves, when they begin to practice solitude." To get the full benefit of your periods of solitude, you must sit quietly for 30 to 60 minutes at a time. If you haven't done it before, it will take the first 25 minutes or so for you to stop fidgeting and moving around. You'll practically have to hold yourself in your seat. You'll have an almost irresistible desire to get up and do something. But you must persist. After 20 or 25 minutes, you'll begin to feel deeply relaxed. You'll begin to experience energy coming into your mind and body. You'll have a tremendous sense of well-being. At this point, you'll be ready to get the full benefit of these moments of contemplation. Your job is to relax and listen to your inner voice. At a certain stage during your period of solitude, the solutions to the most pressing difficulties facing you will emerge quietly and clearly, like a boat putting in gently to the side of a lake. The answer that you seek will come to you so clearly -- and it will feel so perfect -- that you'll experience a deep sense of gratitude and contentment. You may get several answers in one period of quiet sitting. But you'll get the answer to the most important question facing you every single time. Whatever it is, when you follow the guidance that you received in solitude, it will turn out to be exactly the right thing to do. Everything will be okauy. And it will usually work out far better than you could have imagined. Just try it and see. For information on how you can get No Excuses!: The Power of Self-Discipline, click here. Find out how Bob can help you here.] -----------------------------------------------------Highly Recommended ----------------------------------------------------- Success mentor Bob Cox knows first hand that hard work trumps talent. He helped four men go from rags to riches. They all became billionaires, thanks to their work ethic. But they also had an attitude, a mindset, that drove them to succeed. It's something you can learn. Why not let Bob help you... What Inspires YOU to Be a Better You?Michael Masterson has said that the good and decent acts of friends, family, associates, and strangers have inspired him to make it one of his New Year's resolutions -- every year -- to become a better person. How about you? What inspires you to be a better person? I consider myself to be still "under construction." As such, I use goal setting as a way to design my life to match my hopes and ambitions. When I turned age 50, I honestly evaluated who I was and who I wanted to be. One of the things I recognized was that whenever I used a "my way or the highway" approach, I inevitably limited my success and slowed down the achievement of my goals. I consciously began to do what Michael does at the beginning of every year. I set an annual goal of taking action to be a better person. And I invite you to make this one of your goals, too... starting today! Finding your own faults requires a certain amount of objectivity and candor... and it can be a bit painful emotionally. The second step -- figuring out how to overcome those faults -- can be tough. And the most difficult part of the process is to take action -- to make these changes day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year... until you become the person you envisioned. Easy? No. But as I can tell you from my personal experience, it is well worth the effort. [Ed. Note: Bob Cox teaches goal setting 365 days a year with ETR's Epiphany Alliance program. Bob also teaches dozens of success skills that he discovered during his long and varied career, including time spent working with four businessmen who went on to become billionaires. Today's Words That Work: AdiposeAdipose (AD-uh-pohs) -- from the Latin for "lard" -- is another way of saying fatty; consisting of, resembling, or relating to fat. Example (as used by Elizabeth Royte in a New York Times review of Brilliant: The Evolution of Artificial Light by Jane Brox): "In the Middle Ages, the rich... were enjoying the clear and steady flames of beeswax candles, while the rest of the world still squinted into the grimy light of whatever adipose matter lay at hand, whether rendered from manatees, alligators, whales, sheep, oxen, bison, deer, or coconuts."
